October 2022, or rather, its second half, is jam-packed with new game launches, giving the new first-person shooter Overwatch 2 enough time to maintain its relevance. If online multiplayer isn’t your specialty, this month has several highly anticipated AAA entries, including Gotham Knights, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remake. The latter recently had an open beta testing period, which provided useful results on the cross-play front. After nearly a year of waiting, PlayStation is finally bringing Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection to PC, allowing a new generation of players to experience the adventures of Nathan Drake and Chloe Fraser.
Nintendo maintains its dominance in the handheld market with the return of Umbra Witch in the Bayonetta threequel. Despite the addition of new special spells, the game maintains its fast-paced hack-and-slash gameplay, allowing for hybrid experimentation on the field. Then there’s Mario + Rabbids’ Sparks of Hope, a Nintendo and Ubisoft collaboration in which the franchise’s iconic characters embark on an interstellar journey to save Spark’s companions.
If the frantic gameplay wears you out, take a “relaxing” trip through the plague-ridden streets of France as you guide siblings Hugo and Amicia to a stunning island in the upcoming Plague Tale sequel. Then there’s Bloody Ties, the highly anticipated story DLC for Dying Light 2’s zombie-parkour game, in which Aiden enters a bloodsport tournament only to discover that there’s a lot at stake.

Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 will function similarly to the original 2016 game at launch, filtering its team structure down to 5v5 meta, albeit with some new maps and hero redecoration. Technically, it is an improvement that will completely replace its predecessor, encouraging a faster play style and paving the way for the future PvE element. The build, which will be available in October, will be labelled “Early Access” and will only support online multiplayer, a revamped Battle Pass system for most shooters these days.

A Plague Tale: Requiem

A Plague Tale: Requiem is set in southern France and tells the story of Amicia and Hugo de Rune, brothers and sisters fleeing the French Inquisition and the Black Death plague. You must put yourself in Amicia’s shoes as she searches for an island that may contain a cure for Hugo’s blood disease. In the upcoming title, you can shoot bolts at enemies with a knife, a sling, or a crossbow. You can use tar to set enemies on fire in the game.
The story picks up six months after the events of A Plague Tale: Innocence, which came out in 2019. Both Amicia and Hugo must remain in the light in order to avoid the plague-spreading rats. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, a remastered version of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, will be released on PC 10 months after it was released on PS5 in January. The switch to Unreal Engine provides a significant visual boost, making the game’s dated point-and-click mechanics more tolerable. Persona 5 Royal
